Fundraising Gig August 2nd

Next Saturday, August 2nd obviously 5 believers be playing at the New Town in Sutton as part of a special fundraising event to raise money for St Raphael’s Hospice and London Community Heart.

The event will start at midday and continue until late. Buffalo Bill’s Blues Revue (featuring a certain Mark Taylor on drums) will also be appearing. The highlight of the event will be a Hog Roast.

WordCamp UK 2008

This website runs on the WordPress open source content management system. WordPress a great piece of opensource software. It was originally developed as a simple blogging tool, however it is now a very comprehensive and flexible content management system and is really well supported both by the developers Automattic and the WordPress user community.

Yamaha Bass Magicstomp

While I was in Birmingham last weekend for WordCampUK 2008, I checked out a few music shops. I found a new old stock Yamaha Bass Magicstomp which I tried out and bought for a pretty good price.

There were also versions for Guitar and Acoustic Instruments, but all of the magicstomp pedals have been discontinued for a few years.

Advent 4211 – MSI Wind Netbook

I recently bought an Asus EeePC 2G to use as my mobile laptop, The default OS, Xandros wasn’t very flexible and there was only 2Gb storage onboard, so I ran eeexbuntu from an 8gb SDHC card. Unfortunately I couldn’t get on with the 7″ screen and it was very limited with the non-expandable 512Kb memory.  I decided to go for something a little bigger with a better screen resolution and better performance.
