About Obviously 5 Believers

O5B at the Boom Boom Club March 2008

Anyone with more than a passing knowledge of 60’s rock history will recognise the name of Obviously 5 Believers as a song from Bob Dylan’s ground breaking album Blonde On Blonde. An apt name indeed then for a band formed through a love of the music of rock’s most influential performer. Throw into the mix a good slice of numbers from many of the other greats of the 60s and 70s and an ear for the more obscure songs of those decades and you get one of the most diverse and unusual bands on the circuit today.

This wide range of influences has left its mark on their new CD. Just released and available from this web site the eponymous Obviously 5 Believers is a collection of 11 original songs with a hint of country, a good helping of R’n’R and some not so straight down the line rock. With a show that can range from the Neil Young to Elvis, from Johnny Cash to The Kinks, Obviously 5 Believers aim to play the songs you forgot you knew and forgot you loved.
