On Friday, 29th October we will be playing at the Royal Albert in Crystal Palace. We’ll be on at about 9pm, hope to see you there.

Oval Tavern

The Oval Tavern will be under new management from October 2010. We don’t know yet whether the gigs and open mic nights will continue, but we are keeping our fingers crossed as the pub is a great venue.

Thanks to Graeme and the staff for all the good times.

Update: We have heard that Simon’s Open Mic nights will continue ~~on every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month as normal~~ every Tuesday. We are looking forward to the next one on Tuesday 12th October.

On this song, Pete used his Deering goodtime open-backed banjo amplified using a pickup made from the lid of a mustard jar.

Jam Night at the Oval Tavern

If we can we always try to get to the acoustic / blues jam night hosted by the mighty Simon each second & fourth Tuesday at the Oval Tavern. The next on is on 25th May and we are planning to be there. If you play an instrument or sing, why not come along and join in?

We also have a full o5b gig at the Oval on Thursday 27th May.

BB’s Blues Club

We had a great evening on November 8th playing BB Blues club at the Colourhouse Theatre, Merton Abbey Mills.

Bill joined us again and was hosting the evening. We look forward to playing there again.

We went to Simon Hughes’s blues and acoustic Open Mic night at the Oval Tavern last night.

This is held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 8.30pm.

We had a very enjoyable evening and met a lot of great musicians.
No drummers turned up except for Mark, so he had a busy evening sitting in with everyone.

The Grove Tavern

We were very pleased to hear that the Grove Tavern opposite South Wimbledon tube station is up and running again as a music venue. The pub is now managed by Broken Guitars Ltd and also houses the Abbey Music School & Surrey Strings.

Obviously 5 Believers will be playing at the Grove on Friday 5th June 2009. We hope to see you there.

New Town Acoustic Gig

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the New Town Last Night. We set up all the gear downstairs for a change and and Pete &Nick used acoustic guitars.

Once again we were joined by our favourite harmonica virtuoso, Buffalo Bill Smith.

The Joker

Our version of Steve Miller’s ‘the Joker’ seemed to go well so we’ll probably include it in our set list again.
